Ráda chodím jen tak do města, hledat místa a výhledy, které
stojí za to. Díky nim si pak připadám, že to tu znám zase o trochu víc, i když
je ještě pořád co objevovat. Tak tady je seznam toho nejlepšího, co jsem zatím
našla J
I really like walking around the city centre, looking for spots and views that are worth visiting. Thanks to that I always feel like I know the city a bit more, although I still have to see a lot. So here’s a list of what I’ve found so far J.
World Museum a Walker Art Gallery
Akvárium, dinosauři, ukázka kultur z celého světa,
nerosty, zvířata,… Takové to poctivé muzeum, kam přijdete a řeknete si, že
muzea jsou fakt skvělá věc a chcete do nich chodit víc (moji osobní favorité
jsou dinosaurus a slon). A jestli raději pozorujete umění, Walker Art Gallery, národní galerie severu, je hned vedle.
Dinosaurs, aquariums, cultural heritage from all around the world, animals, minerals,… It’s one of the “real“ museums that you visit and feel like museums are great and you need to visit them more (I really liked the dinosaurs, I need to visit more museums with dinosaurs, haha). And if you’re more into art, go to Walker Art Gallery, the national gallery of the north, it’s just next door.
Central Library
Možná je zvláštní někomu doporučovat, ať se jde podívat do
knihovny, ale vážně běžte. Dovnitř může kdokoliv, jen k půjčování knih
domů musíte mít členskou kartičku, a stojí to za to. Nově zrekonstruovaná budova
je samozřejmě plná knih, ale záležet si dali i na interiéru, který byste při
příchodu do budovy určitě nečekali. Vyjděte po schodech až do nejvyššího patra,
tahle knihovna má totiž i vyhlídku na střeše. Neláká vás to a radši byste
klasickou knihovnu plnou dřevěných polic a starých knih? Když budete hledat,
najdete i to. Ve druhém patře se nachází obrovská čítárna s knihami
v několika patrech po svém obvodu a tam se budete cítit opravdu jako ve
filmu.
It might be weird suggesting a library but you should really go there. Anybody can go inside, you just need to be a member to borrow a book. The building was reconstructed a couple years ago and the interior is really nice. You wouldn’t expect such a modern inside of the building but it also has a reading room with thousands of old books, where you’ll feel like you’re in a Harry Potter movie (and who wouldn't want to be in a Harry Potter movie?). The best part of the library though is the view you get from the top. Go up there, you’ll not regret it.
Liverpool
Cathedrals
Katedrály
jsou něco, co nejde přehlédnout. Obě jsou obrovské, jedna vypadá trochu jako
koruna, druhá je prostě kolos. A jestli sem kvůli něčemu jet, jeďte právě kvůli
nim. Já osobně mám raději Liverpool Cathedral, ale i Metropolitan má něco do sebe.
Nejlepší bude, když je přijedete omrknout a vyberete si taky svého favorita J.
Cathedrals are the dominants of the city. Both are huge, one of them looking more like a crown, the other one is simply massive. They’re definitely a reason to visit Liverpool. I personally like the Liverpool Cathedral more but there’s something about the Metropolitan too. Well, come to Liverpool and see for yourself J.
Chinatown
Čínská
čtvrť je známá hlavně patnáct metrů vysokým vstupním obloukem, který je
největším svého druhu mimo čínské území.
Chinatown is famous for the Chinese Ark that is 15m high and is the largest Chinese Ark outside China.
Liverpool One
Nejen, že se tu dá celý den nakupovat, protože vzdálenosti mezi obchody jsou docela velké :D, ale navíc je tu patro s restauracemi, vyhlídkou, stromy a tak. Mě prostě nepřestává fascinovat, že je v obchodním centru park na střeše.
Not only you can spend the whole day shopping because the shops are quite far away from each other :D but on the top floor there are restaurants, trees and you can see the shopping centre from the top. I’m just fascinated by the fact that there’s a small park on the roof in the middle of the city.
